crunchy roll tv app

the idea.

When creating this proposed TV application of Crunchyroll, I focused on an intuitive interface and design elements that suited Crunchyroll’s audience. The genre selector was created to give better user individuality within the application. I also updated the search function to match modern, more intuitive interfaces that users would expect. The final design features a shortened homepage that, in practice, would fit to match the user’s preferences as selected in the profile area.

the process

My redesign of the Crunchy Roll TV Application began with a Heuristics Evaluation alongside User Interviews of the current design, which noted several serious and frustrating interface flaws. After documenting the current User Journey, I pinpointed that while most users recognized Crunchy Roll’s vast selection and would most likely continue to use the application, compared to modern streaming services, its interface seemed severely outdated and unappealing. From there, I gathered interface details from several well-known streaming services and implemented them throughout the wireframing and mockup. Prototyping was completed in Adobe XD.
